It's been a Petersen family tradition to cut down a fresh Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and since we didn't have the privilege of going to Jones Christmas Tree farm in Connecticut we had to improvise. So the Petersen Clan and our dear friends the Kelly's ventured to northern Utah to find a Christmas tree. When we arrived at the farm I was amazed at the contrast of Jones Christmas Tree Farm to this little farm. This place had nothing organized, pruned and many of the trees we're shedding brown needles (that's suppose to happen at the end of the season). It was very strange. After telling myself we'd find a good tree we went on the hunt. Aaron kept asking what about this one what about that one, but some were to bare, some weren't full on the top or the bottom, some needles were to sharp... but after much searching and determination to find the tree that would fit our home we sound the tree you see in the picture below. It's a beautiful tree! When we brought in our home the aroma changed to this amazing pine smell. It was wonderful. To this day the Christmas tree is not fully decorated, actually it is a disaster. I haven't quite found the time to finish stringing cranberries and popcorn. So many distractions.
