Change

Do you ever think while listening to General Conference, "oh this talk was for me" or "I need to hear that one"?  It seemed I was saying one of those lines after most of the talks I heard the past few days. It was wonderful and so refreshing. It's almost a let down when it's over, especially when one is needing it so badly. My husband lost his job on Friday and so conference couldn't have come at a better time. We soaked in all the good messages that were said. I am so grateful for a living Prophet, one who stands as a spokesperson for our Savior. I loved Elder Holland's address on feeling alone. He brought much insight to the life of Jesus Christ. I will think of the Savior more when I am feeling alone or having a hard day. The Savior knows how we feel, even when my husbands looses his job, He knows how we feel! Gratefully, I had a prompting recently that he would not be at his current job at the end of 2009, but what I didn't know was how it would happen and when. I just knew change was coming. There is always something more to learn. I now have more empathy for those who are unemployed. We are so grateful we have enough to live off for a while. It must be soooo nerve recking to not have anything to live off while being unemployed. I feel for anyone who has to go through that experience. It must be hard! I know the Lord will take care of us. It's probably a blessing in disguise, right.

Gratefully, my husband is very talented and will be a huge asset to where ever he goes. My prayer is to keep strong during adversity.

I'm sorry to hear that Aaron lost his job. We were in the same boat in 2007 when Eric was unemployed for 8 months. It was one of the most trying times in our lives but the Lord had a plan and now we are reaping the blessings of our faith. I know the Lord is mindful of you guys as well and you have the right attitude about it so I know everything will work out in time, just be patient. I promise it will be worth it! In the meantime, you guys will be in our prayers. :)

Thanks Jaime and Jessica for your thoughtfulness. I believe in the power of prayer.

Jaime, I remember when Eric was out of work. You were so amazing during all that. I just hope i can be strong through it all.

Jessica, Aaron's background is diverse. He's undergrad is in facility management and a minor in business, which he worked in for several years. When he worked for the church it was in the facility side, but for the last couple of years he's worked for an accounting firm. He likes the financial side of work. He's says he would like to work as a finical analyst. But he's applying to any job to do with finances, facility management work and is probably open to anything:)

He's currently getting his masters in Public Administration at BYU. Like I said he's very diverse in his background.

It will work out some how.

Christine--

you guys are amazing! I love your perspective on life, we are soo sorry to hear about Aaron's job. But, I have learned that often when a window or door shuts another one ALWAYS opens. Let me know if Aaron wants to pass on his resume to my husband...networking we have learned is the way to finding jobs these days.

I am sorry to hear about Aaron's job, and will definitely pray for your family. When I lost my teaching job and returned to school, it opened up more opportunities than I could have realized at the immediate moment when I heard the words, "You're being laid off." Over the next two years, somehow things worked out, and I become much better at managing money. :-) Sounds like you're ahead on that one. Even now, we don't eat out anywhere without a coupon or our Happenings Book! The lessons of frugality I learned then haven't left me now. So--next time we get together, we'll definitely pot-luck and call it happiness! I would love to see you before you head down to Provo.
